Representative Civil Cases

• TWA Flight 800 Disaster off Long Island, New York, a successful representation of plaintiffs in a multidistrict case arising from an air disaster off the coast of Long Island, New York;

• In re Air Disaster at Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 21, 1988, a successful representation of plaintiffs in a multidistrict case arising from an airline bombing;

• Bushkin v. Raytheon, a successful representation of an investment banker in a breach of contract claim, arising from a merger and acquisition deal.

• David Pollow, Administrator of the Estate of Adam Pollow v. City of Memphis, a successful civil rights case against the City of Memphis, resulting from the brutal beating and death of an individual taken into protective custody by the Memphis police.

• A successful product liability case against a national manufacturer of children's products, where it was alleged that a faulty product design resulted in multiple infant deaths.

• Aaron Gross v. Town of Stoughton, a civil rights case brought by a Boston Police Officer;

• F. Lee Bailey v. Aaron J. Broder, a case dissolving a partnership and resolving a contract dispute that involved F. Lee Bailey.

Representative Criminal Cases

• United States v. Jose Restrepo, a successful motion to dismiss on speedy trial grounds, where the charges alleged unlawful re-entry into the United States, in which the client had been arrested by I.N.S., held for more than thirty days prior to institution of criminal charges, and immediately deported to Columbia. Dozens of other cases in the District of Massachusetts dismissed as a result of the decision.

• Commonwealth v. Paul Tanso, a successful reversal on appeal of defendant's double homicide convictions, followed by acquittal after retrial, in 1994.
